Postpartum Doula?

After working closely with families across the country, I understand the distinct roles of a night nanny, a night nurse, and a postpartum doula. While each offers a their own kind of support, I believe postpartum doulas provide a comprehensive care that goes beyond just the baby's needs. Night nannies primarily focus on infant care, ensuring they are fed, changed, and comforted overnight. On the other hand, night nurses bring medical expertise, often caring for special needs infants.

However, a postpartum doula offers a holistic approach that includes emotional support, household assistance, both parents well-being, and newborn care. In addition to attending to the baby's needs, we provide support to the mother, offering lactation assistance, emotional reassurance, and practical guidance on newborn care. Most postpartum doulas assist with light household chores, ensuring the environment is conducive to a restful recovery. By prioritizing the overall well-being of both the mother and the baby, postpartum doulas play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing environment and transitioning roles for every member of the family.

Our overnight postpartum doulas are dedicated to providing assistance during those late-night hours. We can help with feeding and soothing the baby, allowing you to get the restorative rest you need to wake up refreshed. While you sleep, we can help with light tidying, preparing/sterilizing bottles, and handling laundry, ensuring you wake up to a more organized and comfortable space. Our goal is to alleviate the stress of nighttime care by providing you with newborn care that you can trust.

“Juanita is the greatest blessing a growing family could hope for. She does it all – prepartum support, birth/labor, postpartum support, night nannying, infant sleep coaching, and lactation counseling – and she does it flawlessly. She used gentle/no-cry sleep training techniques to teach the twins to connect their sleep cycles, and she had them sleeping 6 hour stretches at night within the first 6 weeks. On top of all this, Juanita found time every night to fold laundry, wash the dishes, organize our toddler's playroom, and complete a bunch of other miscellaneous household tasks. My husband and I loved waking up every morning to a clean, organized house almost as much as we loved waking up to happy, well-rested babies.”
